One Last Look...

One Last Look...
Originally uploaded by Aaaugh!.

I'm glad that Aaaugh! posted this. It's a picture of the gameneverending, a piece of my life, and many others, that's going away. Hopefully not for ever, but it's a good possibility that it will be for a very long time. the Ludi's are doing very well with flickr and just don't have the time to give gne the attention it really deserves. I'm really sad that it's gone and am going to miss seeing everyone in chat and knowing that when we all get together again, as some of us will, it won't be while clicking away or waiting for TRG so we can yoink from the campers. Goodbye, gne.

A beautiful sky can be decieving

Thursday, September 09, 2004

I recieved an email today with a link that I think is very important. It's for Floridians who need help after the hurricanes we've had and the 1 that's on the way. I'm not asking for me, we did ok. It's for everyone else that has lost their homes or jobs or memories. It really doesn't matter if it's only $1 (or more if you can.)

We did alright, like I said, lost nothing but a bunch of trees and the pond is overfull. No big deal, you just take the loader and push the trees out of the way, that's what's really nice about having acres of land. You don't have to worry about the neighbors and they don't have to worry about you.

The stress levels down here are getting really bad, people just don't care, if you have something they want, they take it, even if it's your lane on the road. And I've found that most don't even look when they're turning onto a main road, they slow down for the turn and go.

Speaking of stress levels, this had better be the last hurricane this year, 3 in 1 month is just crazy. Hurricane season isn't over until the end of November so this could be a loooonnggg, loooonnnggg season.

I still have a few pics of Hurricane Charley to post but I can't seem to find the time. Now, Frances might be coming this way. I don't think we can stand another hurricane this soon after Charley. Anything that hasn't fallen down or come apart already is going to when Frances gets here. Maybe we'll be lucky and Frances will just go away. Somehow, I don't think so, I think it's just our year........

I'll get back here as soon after as I can and let everyone know what's happened. I hope it will be nothing and everyone is safe.

All I can say is WOW!

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Monday, July 26, 2004

wow, updates around here are great, I mean bloggers not mine. I  do have pics and stories, there's just been so much going on. 3 new args, trying to get sleep to make up for all that I missed while on vacation, and of course, work. I haven't had time to do any blogging. The pics have all been named and will be posted (for the most part) on Mart's site.  He has nicely offered the space and I have gratefully accepted.

I loved Vancouver, it's beautiful mountains, water, and for the most part people. I say that because on the day we left someone stole my laptop. That was the only bad stain on the whole trip. The weather was perfect, it only rained once, on monday morning, for a few hours and then faded away over the mountains. We ended up with a perfect party room and great people to party with. More next time and maybe a pic or two.

Thursday, July 15, 2004

Well, we're off to Vancouver, hope everyone's ready for pics when we get back. I'm excited about going and yet worried about the long flight. I don't like being cooped up for a long period of time. And the lack of smoking is going to kill me. I've got hard candy and other snacks with me, that should help a bit. We'll be back Tuesday, everyone have fun. Bye!

Friday, June 25, 2004

Another rainy day in Florida, the usual afternoon storms are here and seem to be lasting into the evening.

I seem to be hooked on Kingdom of Loathing, it's fun, it takes forever to get leveled up enough to go everywhere but it's very similar to the gne prototype where you had to spend alot of time making in order to make something better.

Speaking of gne, we have stuff again. We can even make things, not alot of things but anything is better than nothing. 'mute showed us a map, a temporary map, but at least we know that they are doing something behind the scenes. I can't wait until next month, we're leaving for Vancouver on the 15th of July. It will be nice to meet some of these online characters in person.

That's it for now, but at least it's something, considering I've actually updated more than once in the last month.

Be safe!

Wow! I guess I shouldn't wait so long in between posting, the new (to me) interface is nice.

So much has been going on I haven't had time to post. We finally got our property, now to decide on what kind of house to put on it. I will be nice to get out of this single-wide mobile home and have room to stretch. Having the land around us here has helped, at least this way our neighbors aren't right on top of us like they would be if we were in a park. It's still small though. I haven't a complaint really, we've been here for 5 years and had fun.

I finally got a regular route and life is good. I know what I'm going to be doing everyday and can actually plan a life now. It's off season so I should be able to be done working earlier each day too. NICE.

My jeep has been working well until today, the throttle cable broke. I had just finished my last delivery and was heading back to the office. All I did was step on the gas and "click" the pedal went to the floor. Needless to say, the pedal was the only thing moving. Now parts are not easy to find but hopefully the auto parts guy can have one for me tomorrow. That would be quick, another told me it would be at least 3 days. I can't be off of work for that long. I need to save my vacation days for Vancouver next month.

That's another good thing, everything's set, the hotel, the car and the plane ride. Yay. I can't wait, even if there are only a few going, it will be nice to get away and visit somewhere I've never been before.

Hope everyone's well!

Work is still crazy but I finally got my own route. That means that I'm now a full time carrier with all that comes with it. It's a bit of a raise but it's also less hours and paid vacations. I also only have to work 5 days a week, that is, after this next weekend, because of Mother's Day, I said I'd work to help out a bit. Yay, no more 60 hour weeks and being dead tired when I get home. Hope everyone is well and now I might be able to blog a bit more.

Monday, March 08, 2004

Wow, time flies by, I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've posted anything! Season is about half over down here so hopefully I'll start getting more free time again.

I'm going to be a full time regular carrier in about 2 more months, yay! All that reallly means is that I get to do the same route 5 days a week instead of 5 or 6 different ones every week. It's going to be nice but after awhile doing the same route day after day is going to be boring. At least I'll only have to do that and not help do the 1000 other things that they try and have me do everyday. Oh, and I'll finally get medical and health benefits that will probably take away half of my paycheck. I guess if I plan on retiring sometime, that I need to do it and start working on the "excellent" retirement benefits that all government employees get ;(

Hope everything's good and everyone's fine. And one other thing, try flickr.com, it's fun and the people are really nice. It's not a game but it is social.

GNE has been changed temporarily, now you can reach what they've released as flickr at flickr.com. It's all about picture sharing and chatting. I'd post it as a link but it's going to change again. They're getting somewhere, and the amount of people around has definitely grown. Come and visit, if you have the time and if anyone is still reading.

Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been working to hard again. I did manage to buy an old postal jeep over the weekend. It's great and purrs like a kitten. I should be getting my own postal route in the next few months. I decided it was time to get a vehicle that I can deliver out of comfortably. It works.

Hope everyone's welll.

Click here to take the M*A*S*H quiz!

Friday, January 30, 2004

Well, the acreage is going to take a bit more then just bidding on it, the house on it isn't worth much and I have to try and get a vacant land loan and hope that my credit is good enough to qualify. Just in case, I'm going to look at a new place on Sunday. The 2 places I saw today were nice but not what I'm looking for, I want some land and a small house. I don't have time to take care of a big house and don't want to live in the middle of a mess. I hope everyone is fine and that there isn't too much snow for those of you up north!

Friday, January 16, 2004

The house hunting is going well. I think we've found 10 acres in our price range, yay. It's just taking up all of my free time. I hope everyone is well.

Happy New Year all. I've been way too busy to blog anything. I hope the new year finds everyone healthly and happy!
